Salted kelp made from the thick parts of natural ma-konbu kelp from southern Hokkaido, simmered for about 5 hours over a direct flame in a broth of kelp, bonito flakes, and dried sardines, and flavored with sansho (Japanese pepper) berries picked in spring. Net weight is 80 g.
