A maze-like market spreading in all directions from beneath the elevated tracks of Tsuruhashi Station. It originated as a postwar black market, and fresh fish shops, dried goods shops, kimchi shops and yakiniku restaurants are packed together. It is known for the smell of grilled meat that greets you the moment you leave the ticket gates, and is one of Osaka's iconic market scenes. Kimchi, chijimi (Korean pancake) flour, dried goods and more can be bought by weight.
