This Ginza Matcha Cake was newly released in 2017 by Tokyo Banana World, the company that sells Tokyo Banana.
It has been a while since Tokyo Banana World sold a Japanese-style product, and this one looks likely to be popular with overseas travelers as well as people in Japan.
Stone-ground Uji matcha is blended smoothly with coarse sweet adzuki bean paste (tsubuan) from Tokachi.
It is wrapped in mellow matcha milk cream.
The whole thing is covered in fluffy sponge cake, making a wonderful three-layer treat!
A small green heart is drawn in the center of the cake, so it looks cute and is perfect as a souvenir!
