A round, flat bun about four to five centimeters across. A batter like that of imagawayaki (a griddle-baked filled cake) surrounds a white bean paste filling, giving a simple, nostalgic taste. It has long been a favorite souvenir from Sapporo.

What Japanese buyers say

The one reviewer, who grew up in Hokkaido, bought this out of nostalgia on a business trip as an office gift: a small, flat bun with an imagawayaki-like dough and white bean paste, found in the Sapporo Station underground mall. A box of 12 was about 420 yen; they call it the original Sapporo souvenir for the Showa generation.
