Manju (steamed buns with sweet filling) from Wakasaimo Honpo in Hokkaido. A steamed confection long loved at the shop on the shore of Lake Toya.

What Japanese buyers say

The one reviewer praises this manju for a very chewy, mochi-like skin and lightly sweetened koshi-an (smooth bean paste), now also in a matcha version. At roughly 100 yen each and sold within sight of the JR Sapporo Station gates, it is easy to pick up when heading home.
